Noopept is a synthetic molecule that falls under the Racetam group. This compound is synonymous to N-phenyl-acetyl-L-prolyglycine ethyl ester. Noopept’s construction was heavily influenced by the nootropic – piracetam.
In a study with several animal models, noopept was shown to be neuroprotective and prevent the following unwanted effects.
Free Radicals– Uncharged molecules that are destructive at the cellular level
Excitotoxicity– Death or damage of nerve cells brought on by over stimulation of neurotransmitters.
Ionic Imbalances– Alterations of the intra- and extracellular ion concentrations of the nervous systems ion channels
Pro-Inflammatory Cytokines Accumulation– An excessive amounts of cell signaling molecules that are often responsible for chronic inflammation.
Neurotrophin Deficit– A lack of proteins that aid in the survival, function, and development of neurons.
In a paper published by the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences it was said that noopept positively influenced the memory consolidation and retrieval steps and produces an additional selective anxiolytic action
Noopept effects seem to be very promising with the ability to enhance memory, decrease anxiety, and protect ourselves from a variety of nervous system disorders.
So how should you dose noopept?
Noopepts dosage falls anywhere between 10-30mg.
Noopept Side Effects
While there is no backed scientific data mentioning any negative side effect, it is widely seen across the nootropic community that mega dosing this compound can lead to the following
- Gastrointestinal Issues
- Brain Fog
